Welcome to Tex-MUG

The Texas Macintosh User Group (Tex-MUG) is a non-profit organization associated with The Universsity of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Tex-MUG is not affiliated with Apple, Inc. or any other commercial enterprise. Individuals interested in using computers, especially Macintoshes, to further education in the health sciences and for self-improvement are encouraged to attend the meetings and special events. Some Tex-MUG activities require financial support and are wholly and independently supported through dues contributed by its members. For membership details please see 'Tex-MUG Membership'.

Mission

The purpose of the Tex-MUG organization is to provide educational assistance to faculty, students and staff members at UT Health Science Center in the use of computer hardware, software and related products. Tex-MUG and the Health Science Center promote health care and health sciences education and research through computing.

Meetings

Tex-MUG meetings are held on a regular basis; usually on the third Thursday of each month from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Meetings start with announcements, member discussions and then featured presentations. Q&A follows. The UT Health Science Center provides a lecture room for each of our meetings and other multi-media lecture halls for special events. (See Calendar of Events for details.) Our regular meetings usually include a presentation featuring one or more guest speakers. Contributors to this session can include Apple Engineers who present the latest information on the Macintosh operating system, hardware and other software developments. Third party hardware and/or software representatives give some presentations, as well as Tex-MUG members. The forum for these meetings is flexible and often emphasizes the interests of the Tex-MUG members. Meetings and special events are open to all interested individuals. We are always open to suggestions - just contact any Tex-MUG officer or board member.
